From wild consumption to responsible engagement.
What is our position towards the global changes that challenge us today in economy, politics and the environment? How can existing resources be used sustainably? What social and political solutions are we looking for and how do we want to implement them? What changes in daily life are needed?
These are just some of the questions that are of concern to us and that we want to get to the bottom of from the 25th of August to the 1st September 2022 (Thursday to Thursday).
After the success of the first edition of the Eco Summer Camp in 2021 (see also the Program 2021), this year it will be held and in an extended version. About 60 young people (18-35) are expected to participate from all over Europe and a dozen experts and scholars will animate the participants during these days.
With our one-week academy, young people, who are our future decision-makers, can exchange ideas with experts and like-minded people at eye level. These fruitful encounters will contribute to advancing the ecological-spiritual transformation within our society.
This year, the holistic aspect of the week will be reaffirmed by increasing hands-on activities, such as sustainable cooking, gardening and more time in nature. Furthermore, this year about 10 people over 35 years old will be allowed to participate in the camp in order to promote the dialogue between the generations and to allow a mutual learning process from each other, which is essential for the common path toward a brighter future.
Application for young people (18 to 35)
To ensure a fair proportion of participants from different European countries, varied personal background and gender will be taken into consideration. To ensure the participation of a variety of highly motivated people, a paper-based selection will follow upon registration for the “Eco Summer Camp”. For further information please refer to the application form.
The application process is open. All applications must be submitted at the latest by May 31, 2022. All applicants will be informed no later than within fourteen days of the aforementioned deadline. They will be notified whether they have been accepted, wait-listed or unfortunately rejected.
If you are a student, there is a possibility that the Eco Summer Camp counts as part of for your studies (e. g. as elective for 3 ECTS). Please clarify this with the responsible person of your home university in advance.
